Wacaday was the show your telly was made for! It was shown during school holidays on TV-am between 1985 and 1992.

The programme was presented by Timmy Mallett who also presented sister show The Wide Awake Club shown on Saturday mornings.

Wacaday was a live 30 minute programme containing a mix of wacky features.

Popular and long running ones included viewers’ Holiday Postcards, Hero of the Day, Talent On The Telly, Wactors and Wactresses, The Manic Minute and Foreign Reports.

Other one time features include The WAC-SAW puzzle, Making Things, Fingers in your Ears Time and Drop your toast in which viewers’ names would be read out in the hope that at home they would drop their toast!
